Seating Charts and Cards

If you’re planning a sit-down wedding reception, you need to assign your guests to tables. That means making a seating chart. The chart is for you to organize. Once you’ve charted it out, the seating cards are for your guests.

Why should you do this? First of all, people like to know where they’re sitting. It gives them a home base to return to after dancing and socializing. Secondly, it lets them know you thought about where they should sit and with whom. In other words, it makes them feel special.

While you can’t create a seating chart too far in advance (you have to wait until all the responses come in) it’s a good idea to have it as complete as possible the week before the wedding. You don’t want to stress out about seating the night before you walk down the aisle.
